How do I care for turtles? They are about the size of a quarter? I want to keep them in an outside pond?

Our pond is an old concrete water trauf, w/ creek rocks up the sides. We have about 50 gold fish in the pond. Do I need to add something to pond for the turtles to rest on? There is nothing in it but water as of now.

Yes they need a basking spot, and if they are that small, there is a chance that they will be eaten or carried off by by other critters/large birds! They also need to be kept warm while they are so small, and they will need a place to bury up in the winter to hibernate…

Lots of good info on the web. Look up the breed and find the housing requirements. They’ll need a basking spot, food, and temperature regulation. Just make sure also that the water is low enough and there is enough of a ledge that the turtle won’t climb out…they are quite the escape artists.
Also, they are a likely snack for raccoons and birds at that age, so make sure there are places to hide.

first you want to raise them until they are four inches long make sure that the water is the right temperature about 70-85 degrees in the wild put a big rock or log in it to so they can bask on it they have to have that and just read more on turtlesale.com
oh and also put a fence around the pond just like one of those that you buy for littlel dogs you can also buy specialty turtle fences so they cant escape and go to a road and die.
