Goldfish pond in the winter? HELP?

Amanda V asked:
I want to build a goldfish pond in my backyard and I live in winnipeg. In the winter it can get down to about -35 degrees Celsius.
How big should I make the pond?
What kind of goldfish should I use?
Do I need to add any thing(fountain/waterfall, heater…)
Do I need to feed the fish in the winter?
Will other animals eat the fish? (fox, birds. skunks.)
Any other tips and advise is awesome!

Doesn’t matter how for around, but if it gets that cold you need it to be really deep. I’d get a fountain and a heater for the winter. You could have mosquito fish to eat the mosquitos. And white cloud mountain minnows. I’d also get a pleco for the algae IF you kept it warm in the winter. Or, instead of a pleco you could get a ton of ghost shrimp.
